Coffee shop drawing is one of the best ways to improve your drawing skills.
On this day we decided to ride my cafe racer to James Coffee Co near Little Italy in downtown San Diego. Sometimes it can feel strange drawing in public. In this video, I was working on one of the many sketchbooks I have dedicated to drawing themes. Specifically, I was working on my bird drawing theme. One of these smaller raven drawings I later transformed into a larger drawing.
It can feel like people are always looking over your shoulder (sometimes they do).
But it's good practice to help you feel less afraid of sharing your work.
Many times over the course of an hour people would walk up and ask to see our drawings. It was so much fun. I hope you enjoy the video.
I write a weekly newsletter called Sketchbook Dispatches where I share my recent sketches and insights on entrepreneurship for creatives with 13K subscribers every Sunday –
