Lonely sketches

This sketchbook page existed for days with only a single parrot sketch. No background, nothing.

It was just a lonely sketch of a parrot.

A few days later I went to Communal Coffee, a new coffee spot in my neighborhood, to draw.

Instead of starting completely new sketches in my sketchbook I felt like going through and enhancing old sketches.

Intrigued my the cacti in front of the right side of the trailer, I added it to the parrot drawing in my sketchbook.

A lot of the images that eventually make it into my portfolio started off as lonely sketches. It wasn’t until I revisited old pen sketches with either more watercolor or time with a pen that they turn into an image I’m more confident in sharing on my Instagram or here on my blog.
