Capturing a photorealistic image with my drawings isn’t really a goal of mine. I’m more interested in capturing the things like motion and action in a drawing. That’s why it’s so hard for me to draw buildings like most sketchers – they just don’t hold my attention.
While exploring the Oceanário de Lisboa in Portugal, I made this penguin sketch. While standing up I drew as quickly as I could to capture the excited walks of these penguins. This sketch is my favorite of all the penguin studies I made that day.
