Sketching Thailand: Swimming beneath cliffs

I didn’t have to think twice about clicking “BUY” on my plane tickets to Thailand.

I had just finished an intense month commission. Stressed out, all I wanted to do was ANYTHING but hunch over a project.

On trips like these, I get excited for the sketchbook drawing and painting possibilities. As cliche as it sounds, I just needed a vacation. Aiming to get a good old fashioned nature fix. Hiking, swimming, snorkeling, eating, talking to other travelers, and wandering around.

Rather than try to travel sketch at every moment, I decided to just take mental pictures in my head. Creating drawings form my experience in a more reflective way after I returning home.

I couldn’t stop myself from taking a few photos.

The photos below are from the Koh Phi Phi island area of southern Thailand.
