Writing is a big part of being an artist, even if you don’t think of yourself as a “writer.” The words you use to describe your work, introduce yourself, apply for opportunities, and share your story are often what get someone to keep reading, keep looking, and reach out.
This section is where I keep my writing for artists guides together – the practical stuff like bios, artist statements, proposals, CVs, and grant-related writing. My goal is to make these feel straightforward and usable, not like you need a perfect voice or a marketing personality to sound professional.
A lot of artist writing is really just clarity. What do you make, why do you make it, and what should someone understand when they see it? If you’re building a portfolio, applying to something, or trying to communicate your work without feeling awkward about it, these guides are meant to help you get words on the page and move forward.
